Welcome to the second half of Autumn term - and don't we know it! Darker mornings and nights are here already. I hope you all had a restful half term and are ready for the busy weeks ahead. We have already had our exciting Design and Technology day which was a lovely way to settle back into school following a break. Look out for the colourful and carefully stitched bunting that year 2 made, hanging in the quiet area on the back playground.
Christmas card competition
To involve the children more in thanking our community we are creating a very small number of Christmas cards to write and give to our neighbours and those companies that support our school. To come up with a design we are holding a competition. Please see the flyer sent in your email for further information.
Events coming up
Please see our calendar for all the events that are happening this half term. Events over the next 2 weeks include;
Friday 14th November - Children in Need day - please read the letter from our school council sent in your email - please note the children do not have to complete a sponsorship form - this is optional.
Friday 28th November - Grandparents Glitter day - please read the letter about how to book a place for this very popular event.
Outdoor clothing and wellies
If you have not yet provided wellies for your child so they can go on the field when it is wet, it is not too late - please ensure they are named and send them in a carrier bag. Please remember that your child also needs a warm, waterproof coat with a hood everyday. These items mean that they can continue to play outside at break and lunchtime in light rain conditions without getting wet.
I look forward to seeing year 1 and 2 parents later this afternoon at our OPAL event - please remember to have your tickets ready to show staff (screen shot ans saved onto your camera roll is the easiest method).
