Welcome back to the summer term! I hope everyone had the opportunity to relax over the break. This term we are looking forward to learning about Marvellous Minibeasts in reception, William Shakespeare in year 1 and Amazing Africa in year 2.
We have lots of exciting events happening in school - please check out our calendar, including the year 1 trip to Mary Arden's farm, PTA Bounce for Books (keep getting those sponsorships in), our MAD (Music and Dance) three day festival (see flyer sent in email), whole class photos, the reception trip to Ryton Pools and sports day (details to follow soon)!
The first week of our new school lunch menu has gone well. See our facebook page for a photo/video post of lots of happy children and clean plates. Thank you for your patience with ordering via Swift Kitchen - remember that even though the meals are free, you must CHECKOUT so the order completes and comes through to the school.
On the last day of term we had lots of 'egg'citment with our Easter Bonnet competition. I was so impressed with all the entries and from speaking with the children it was lovely to hear the fun they had making them. Well done everyone who entered and to the grown ups that helped them with their amazing creations! I am glad I was not judging the competition! But our very able judge the Easter Bunny did a great job and the winning children were;
Reception - Freddie, Paisley and Lola.
Year One - Poppy, Apollo and Ampiha.
Year Two -Louis, Lila, and Alice.
SEND local area Ofsted inspection
Warwickshire Local Authority SEND provision is currently being inspected by Ofsted. Parents of children with SEND are encouraged to complete this short questionnaire so Ofsted can understand what works well and what needs improving. Change is needed in this area, and I would urge you to complete the questionnaire.
September 26 reception starters
Yesterday offers were made to our new reception children starting in September and we can't wait to meet them next half term when we hold various welcome meetings and 'get to know us' opportunities. We still have a few places left, so if you know anyone who is still looking for a reception place for September please let them know about our wonderful school.
Smiles before and after school club
From September 2026 Smiles breakfast club will start from 7.30am - we hope this change helps even more parents to balance child care and other responsibilities. Please see the Smiles webpage for further information about Smiles, how to book and the prices from September 2026.
