It has been a short but action packed half term! It was a pleasure to attend the reception and year one Easter service at St Mary Magdalene's church yesterday. The children spoke with confidence and sang beautifully. We are grateful to William and Cerys for hosting us, as it makes it special for the children to perform in a different venue.
Below I have put the recent digital music festival video from our amazing choir - please watch and enjoy!
I am looking forward to our Easter bonnet parade this afternoon, a lovely tradition that has been enjoyable to bring back into school, I will report on the winners in my next newsletter.
Phonics screening check
All year 1 children will be taking their phonics screening check in the week commencing 8th June. Year 1 have produced a great 9 minute video for parents about this and what you can do to support your child. This has been posted on tapestry and our facebook group. Please take the time to watch this.
PTA bounce for books
Your child will come home today with a sponsorship form for our annual PTA Bounce for Books fundraiser. Every penny raised goes back into school to purchase books for our amazing library. The children absolutely LOVE bouncing on the bouncy castle, and this has almost become a right of passage in school! Thank you in advance for any sponsorship that you can provide, it is really appreciated and vital for the school. You will also find in your email, the new PTA newsletter!
Swift kitchen
Don't forget to order your child's lunches using the Swift Kitchen app ready for when we come back to school. Carol and Jason from Miquill joined us at our recent learning reviews to providing some sample treats and answer questions about the new service. The taste taste from parents who had a cake or biscuit from the promotional stand was very positive.
Online safety
We always recommend that you supervise your child when they are using the internet. To also help keep your child safe online if they are using your device, you can deploy different settings depending on who is using the device - click here to find out how.
