Our School Council

Our School Council plays a very special and important role in our school. Each term two pupils from each class are elected by their class mates to represent their views at School Council meetings which are led by Mrs Walsh on Monday  lunchtimes. The elected class representatives report back to their class and gather feedback for the next meeting.

The School Council is one way that we give our children a voice and it helps them to understand that their opinions count and wherever possible will be acted upon. It enables children and staff to work in partnership towards shared goals and provides a basis for active learning of important life skills, such as speaking and listening skills, teamwork, emotional literacy, problem-solving, moral reasoning, self-esteem and self confidence.

SCHOOL COUNCIL MEETINGS 2026 -2027
5th October - This week school council will be asking their classes what they enjoy about school and what they think could be improved . We look forward to hearing their suggestions next week.

12th October - This week school council shared feedback from all of the classes from the previous week. We had some fabulous responses and lots of children loving school, especially OPAL and lunches. Mrs Walsh will provide feedback to Ms Roberts with any additional resource requests the children suggested such as a Trampoline !
School Council are now tasked with gaining class ideas for Children in Need day .. what this space !

19th October - Today school council shared ideas for Children in Need day from their classes . This year the theme is ' Challenge yourself to 26' .We voted on a selection of activities and the winning ideas were ... to run 26 times between two cones in th playground and if wet 26 star jumps inside. On the day children will be invited to wear a spotty accessory, all for a small donation to charity.
