Year Two Assessment
Teachers are continually assessing the children as they talk to them and mark their learning in books, to find out what they know and what they need to learn next.
At the end of each term the children are assessed against what has been taught in the national curriculum across all subject areas.
Below – following a differentiated curriculum to meet personal learning needs (Pre Key Stage standards)Â
Growing development – beginning to develop understanding and can apply skills with supportÂ
Working towards – consolidating understanding and can apply skills with increasing independenceÂ
Expected standard – secure understanding and can apply skills independentlyÂ
Greater depth – deep understanding and can apply skills independently across all areas of the curriculum
This is shared with you at the Autumn term learning reviews and in the end of year pupil report.Â
There are optional end of year 2 tests for children (see leaflet below). However, as we have a robust assessment and moderation system in place, we have chosen not to use these additional optional tests.
