Week 6 of school and the children have really settled well into their new classes and routines. This was very evident when showing new reception 2027 parents around the school - lots of happy and smiling children engaged in their learning and play.
As the seasons turn to Autumn, we are preparing for our annual harvest celebrations in here in school. As part of this, we are collecting items of food on behalf of the Warwick District Food Bank together with the Trussell Trust. If you would like to support our collection, please send in donations between Monday 12th October and Wednesday 14th October – please see the shopping list below for further details which outlines the most needed items;
tinned tomatoes, tinned peas/carrots/sweetcorn, small bottles of squash, tinned rice pudding, long life custard, tinned vegetarian meals, ketchup, mayo, jam, deodorant, washing up liquid.
OPAL event for year 1 parents
If you are a year one parent don't forget you are invited to attend our OPAL play event this afternoon from 2.30pm - please book your slot via eschools before you arrive! You will be asked to show your ticket on arrival. This is an opportunity to share our OPAL facilities with your child and we hope to see you there.
At the moment the weather is looking a bit rainy - we will make a decision at lunchtime whether this event can go ahead and communicate with year 1 parents directly. Whilst we do get the children outside in all weathers, OPAL in the rains means we will not be able to show you many of our areas such as music, dressing up and small world.
100 book challenge
We have had our first 100 book challenge completion of this new academic year. Well done to Lola in Year one - an excellent achievement. Please keep encouraging your child to complete this challenge - remember all 100 books are available to borrow from our school library. Speak to you child's class teacher if your child needs a new tick list.
Key dates
Remember to check our calendar on a regular basis. Next week are our reception harvest performances;
Wednesday 14th October - 2.45pm - Magenta Class

Friday 16th October - 2.45pm Crimson Class
You will need to book this via eschools and will not be admitted onto the school site without a ticket. You may bring 2 adults per child. This is a relaxed event so you are able to bring younger children but they count as one of your allocated 2 spaces. Booking is now open!
Learning reviews
Our learning reviews will take place on Tuesday 20th October and Thursday 22nd October. A letter about how to book your date and time slot via eschools was sent home last week. Booking for learning reviews is now open!
