This week in school has been Poetry Week! Our guided reading and story time sessions across school have been focused on reading poetry. Thursday was National Poetry Day and we welcomed James Carter, published author and poet to school. James worked with all the children, reciting poetry and inspiring them to write and perform their own poems, which they performed in an assembly at the end of the day. Reception enjoyed joining in with performance poetry, Year 1 wrote poems about being happy and Year 2 wrote a 'What am I ' riddle. Some year 1 and 2 children were brave enough to stand at the front of assembly and read their poems aloud!
You can click here to access James's website and find out more about him.
Learning reviews
Please read the important letter sent out about learning reviews which are during the last week of term. Parents MUST book a time slot and letter explains how to do this.
Uniform
We are proud of our uniform and the belonging that wearing uniform creates. If you are not sure what uniform your child should be wearing, please visit our uniform page. School shoes must be sensible black shoes and NOT trainers. Long hair MUST be tied up and we ask that children wear small, plain hair accessories in blue, white, grey or black and that JoJo bows and other 'exciting' hair accessories are enjoyed after school and at weekends.
Illness and absence
As we start to enter the period of coughs, colds and other bugs, please take a look at our absence web page so that you know what to do when your child is ill. We have also sent a guide to 'when to keep your child off school' in your email.
