Reading is a vital skill that unlocks learning across all subjects. As a school we are passionate about creating a reading ethos that means every child (and adult) develops a love of reading - whether that is reading a book alone, with someone else or being read to.
The 100 book challenge has been developed to encourage the children to read 100 quality books by the time they leave our school. Every child has a booklet listing the 100 books.
We have copies of all 100 books in our school library, so there is no need for parents/carers to buy books, however, I am sure you will already have some of the more famous titles at home. The 100 book challenge would also be a great way to introduce your child to your local library and borrow books from there.
Every child that completes the 100 book challenge will be recognised in assembly and get a special certificate.
