What a very busy week in school! The reception children had a lovely trip to the theatre on Thursday. Thank you to all the parents/carers who helped on the trip. I hope you enjoyed it as much as the children did.
We had lots of entries into our community Christmas card competition and the winning children were awarded a certificate in an assembly this week. Well done to Molly in Reception, Apollo in year 1 and Emilie in year 2. Their winning designs will be made into a small amount of cards to share with our immediate neighbours and community members who support the school.
This year Mrs Walsh has been focusing on strengthening links with our local community on Tuesday, she and Mrs Taekema took some year 2 children from our choir to Homewood Care home. The children were warmly welcomed and charmed the residents with their beautiful Christmas carol singing. Well done to all the children that took part, the feedback from the residents was lovely.
And finally, our talented violinists performed in front of their parents and the rest of school in an assembly on Thursday. It is lovely to see how much they are progressing with learning this beautiful instrument.
Winter wonderland
We are looking forward to seeing lots of you at the Winter Wonderland later today, starting at 5.30pm. All money raised goes directly back into school to support your children, providing extra curricular experiences that school budgets would not be able to pay for. I have heard that we have a very special visitor coming too - don't forget to book your ticket to see him!
Christmas performances
Don't forget to book your tickets to the Christmas performances - there is enough space for 2 tickets per family, but these must be booked in advance via eschools. Thankyou to everyone who has booked so far. Please remember that younger siblings cannot attend these events as the children have practiced hard to give a great performance and we do not want this unintentionally disrupted. At the end of all our performances we will be collecting donations (cash only) which will be given straight to that year group to buy resources throughout the year. We will also give a small proportion from the year 2 collection to the church.
Supporting Leamington Night Shelter
This year we are once again supporting the Leamington Night Shelter - please bring the following donations into school instead of class/individual Christmas cards. Thank you!
UHT milk
tinned MEAT based meals
tinned fruit and custard
pot noodles
small bags of sugar
small jars of coffee
cereal (for adults)
PTA wreath making
We had a lovely time on Wednesday evening with 50 attendees making beautiful wreaths using a range of natural foliage, enjoying time with friends, all whilst raising money for the school. Thank you to the PTA for organising and running this very successful event, to the experts who led it and to everyone who attended.
