Head's Message

What a wonderful week of literacy we have had, here in school.  On Wednesday we welcomed the children's author Cat Weatherill and she worked with all children across school to read and recite rhymes and act out well known stories.  She also read each class her story 'By Lantern Light' and explained that the book has been translated into ten languages,  meaning children all around the world can enjoy her stories.

On Thursday we celebrated World Book Day which is always a highlight of the school calendar.  I met lots of Hogwarts wizards and witches, a leopard, saucepan man, number block number one, the BFG, and so many more amazing book characters.   Thank you so much for supporting your children to have fantastic costumes and celebrate the joy of reading.   We have had a wonderful World Book Day.  Don't forget to take your child to a supermarket or bookshop to swap their book token for a free book.

Learning reviews

An important letter regarding learning reviews and how to book these, has been sent via email today.  Please read this carefully and get your appointment booked when the system opens at 12 noon on Monday 9th March.

Exicting information about our school meals!

Please read the letter and new menus sent to your email about an exciting change to our school caterers and food choices from the Summer term.  We will be contacting you again about next steps, so please read the letter carefullly.

Easter Bonnet competition

To celebrate Spring and Easter, on the last day of term we are inviting all children to enter our Easter Bonnet Competition.  This can be any kind of Easter/Spring themed hat that is made at home and brought to school on 27th March.  There will be a winner chosen form each class, so get creative!

PTA superwoman present room

Next Friday (13th) the PTA will be hosting the Superwoman present room.  Gifts cost £4 each payable to PTA via this link.   All profit raised goes straight back in school to support the children -thankyou.

Sticky Questions this week

Reception: Should you get to choose your own name?
Year 1: Do you need to be tough to be brave?
Year 2:  Can you be happy but feel sad?

Have a lovely weekend.
