What a wonderful week of literacy we have had, here in school. On Wednesday we welcomed the children's author Cat Weatherill and she worked with all children across school to read and recite rhymes and act out well known stories. She also read each class her story 'By Lantern Light' and explained that the book has been translated into ten languages, meaning children all around the world can enjoy her stories.
On Thursday we celebrated World Book Day which is always a highlight of the school calendar. I met lots of Hogwarts wizards and witches, a leopard, saucepan man, number block number one, the BFG, and so many more amazing book characters. Thank you so much for supporting your children to have fantastic costumes and celebrate the joy of reading. We have had a wonderful World Book Day. Don't forget to take your child to a supermarket or bookshop to swap their book token for a free book.
