Head's message

This week has seen our year 1 children take their phonics screening check. Both Mrs Green and I are very proud of each and every one of them.  They all did their absolute best and have made great progress in their phonic knowledge.  You will be notified in your child's end of year report whether they have reached the expected standard and offered a meeting with the class teacher about next steps if they have not.

The children's commissioner - Dame Rachel de Souza, is inviting all children to take part in a national survey - The Big Future.  You will need to complete this with or on behalf of your child and I urge you to do so. The commissioner has written;  "It is crucial that I hear from children in every school and college, in every community, across the country. Without hearing from your students, their experiences, views and aspirations risk being missing from the national picture that will help shape future policy."   The survey can be accessed here.

Academisation consultation - please remember our consultation is now open and can be accessed here.  Parents are also invited to an in person consultation on Tuesday 16th June at 9am in school or a teams consultation 6.30pm on teams.

Year 2 Leaver's Assembly

Booking is now open on ESchools to reserve 2 tickets for your child's year 2 leavers assembly.  Please note that younger siblings cannot attend this event.  You will be asked to show your booking on your phone upon arrival, so please ensure you book before the date.

Monday 13th July - Sapphire class

Tuesday 14th July - Turquoise class

Wednesday 15th July - Indigo class

We have been made aware that Turquoise and Indigo class assemblies clash slightly with the Junior School sports days.  Our assemblies will finish by 9.45am and you will be able to exit our school through the back entrance and  onto the field straight away which will mean only a small part of the sports day event will be missed.

PTA events

Next week is our Superman Present room - please order via the PTA.   Our LEGO raffle is also now open - there are 3 amazing high value Lego sets to be won!  Don't miss out on this great opportunity and remember all PTA funds go straight to support your children in school.

Sticky Questions

Reception: If the sun and moon could talk, what would they say to each other?
Year 1: Could a ball be a cube?
Year 2: If this is the answer, what could the question be?

Have a lovely weekend,

Ms Roberts
