Head's message

An important letter has been sent to your email today concerning the next steps the school would like to take in order to continue growing and improving as the educational landscape changes.  Please take the time to read this.

Reception had a wonderful time at Ryton Pools yesterday, den building, mini beast hunting and sketching wildlife. They were very tired when they arrived back at school but I saw lots of smiling faces and many children told me how much they had enjoyed it.  Thank you for supporting this trip through prompt payment and volunteering to accompany the children  - without this trips would not be able to take place.

On Thursday we hosted an inter school football tournament which was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.  The schools who attended were ourselves, Cubbington, St Pauls, Brookhurst, Milverton and Clapham Terrace.  Milverton were the overall winners and the runners up were Brookhurst.  Our year 2 were amazing and thoroughly enjoyed the competitive experience. Thank you to Mrs Smith for co-ordinating this popular event.

Photos from these events are on our facebook page and tapestry.

Next week is the last week of this half term, don't forget to attend the online parent RSHE consultation on Tuesday 19th May at 6pm if you are able.  The link was included in last week's correspondence.

Our greatly anticipated Sports Day is on Thursday - please remember to provide your child with a cap or hat, put 8 hours sunscreen on before sending to school and check they have their PE kit and water bottle. It is currently forecast to be hot next week on Thursday but I will not talk about the weather too much as I do not want to jinx it!

On Friday next week, our wonderful PTA will be selling treats on the playground after school  - please pop along and show your support.  The PTA are busy raising money to fund all the extra curricular activities that take place in school and couldn't happen without your donations.  For example. the recent MAD festival which all the children really enjoyed was fully funded by the PTA. So thank you for your support!

Remember all our calendar dates are available here.

Sticky Questions

Reception: Would it be more fun to live in a treehouse or in the trunk of a tree?
Year 1: If you could bring a dinosaur to school, which one would you bring?
Year 2: Can you be kind to you?

Have a lovely weekend,
Ms Roberts
