Head's message

Welcome back to the second half of the Spring term, where we are hoping for better weather so the children get to learn outdoors even more.   This half term the children are learning new topics, the details of which have been posted on Tapestry for you to see.  Reception - Once Upon a Time, Year 1 - Into the Woods and Year 2 Fire! Fire! - all fantastic topics which I am sure the children will really engage with.

Next week is our author day on Wednesday with Cat Weatherill and  World Book Day on Thursday.  Please see the information letter about these events that was sent home before half term and has been included again on your email this week.   If your child needs a costume for World Book Day why not check out the PTA preloved costume shop after school today.

On World Book Day your child will come home with a book token and the books shown below are available to get with the token from a range of retailers including most supermarkets (no money needed, just the token).

Our year 1 and reception children are getting ready for their Easter service at church on 26th March - please read the letter that has been sent home today about this. Parent volunteers are needed to take children to and from the church.

Staffing

Please note Mrs Barnes, the class teacher in Sunshine has changed her name to Ms Edwards (just in case the children tell you and you think we have a new teacher!)

Mrs Gulliver, Cherry midday supervisor and a Smiles playworker, leaves the Telford team today to join the science team at Myton School.  We wish her all the best and thank her for all she has done during her short time with us.

Tapestry

Tapestry has a new look and feel to the web version and a brand new app.  Please see the information that has been emailed home and install the new app asap as the old app will stop working soon.  Your engagement with Tapestry in all year groups is very important, so please take the time to read this.

PTA superwoman present room

This year the PTA are running a flower stall for the Superwoman present room on Friday 13th March.    Flowers cost £4 each payable to PTA via this link.  or send your child into school with £4 cash in an envelope with your child's name and for the attention of the PTA written on it.  The PTA also need volunteers on the morning of the 13th to help the children chose their flowers - please let your PTA class rep know if you can help.  All profits raised goes straight back in school to support the children -thankyou.

Sport England survey

Sport England are asking parents to take part in a survey about what physical activities your child takes part in and outside of school.  For every parent that completes the survey school will get £10 which we can use to enhance our sports and physical activity provision.  Https://ipsos.uk/BOHWZJJ.  Click here to complete the survey.

Sticky Questions

Reception: If you could have a secret door to anywhere, where would you go?
Year 1: Is everything that glitters pretty?
Year 2: What do you hope for?

Have a great weekend,

Ms Roberts
