Head's Message

We have had a very exciting week in school, thinking about, reading and performing poetry!  Spoz visited school yesterday and spent time in all year groups working with the children to compose and perform their own poems. Lots of fun was had by everyone, Spoz once again really inspired the children to enjoy what can sometimes be less appealing to children.  In an assembly at the end of the day many children confidently stood at the front with a microphone and spoke, sang or rapped their poems!  It was lovely to see their enjoyment and confidence.

Asthma Friendly Setting Accreditation

We are very proud to be the FIRST SCHOOL IN WARWICKSHIRE to be awarded the Asthma Friendly Setting accreditation.  This is down to the hard work of Mrs Berry who works closely with parents, children, the asthma care team and staff to ensure that asthma is managed safely in school. Read the story here.

Learning reviews

You have received a letter via email with information on when and how to book your child's Autumn learning review. Please read this carefully and book your appointment when booking opens next Friday.

Parenting workshops

We are delighted to be hosting two parent workshops in conjunction with Warwickshire Family and Relationship Support.  These will be held in the school hall;

9am - 11am  - Tuesday 4th November  - Understanding children's behaviour  - click here to book

9am - 11am  - Tuesday 12th November - Sleep - click here to book

Spaces are limited so please book asap to avoid disappointment. Please note children cannot be brought to these events.

Martyn's Law

You may have seen in the media that Martyn's Law -The Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025 became law on 3rd April this year with an implementation period of 24 months.  At Telford Infant School, safeguarding is our number one priority, therefore, we are starting to introduce measures in line with these new expectations.  One new measure is to ticket some events that parents are invited to. These will be booked via eschools at no cost to parents and will just require you to show confirmation of your booking on arrival.   We look forward to trialling this at our reception harvest performance.

Parent Governor ballot

Thank you for the support you have shown for the parent governor elections.  Votes will be counted at 11am today and the result announced asap.

Please remember to regularly check the school calendar to find out what is happening.

Have a lovely weekend.

Ms Roberts
