Head's Message

We started this week with a visit from Jason Buckley - the Philosophy Man, who worked with all classes around 'thinking differently' to help develop their thinking, questioning and oracy skills.  The children all engaged in the sessions really well and had fantastic ideas when developing opinions and choices. Jason commented our confident the children are at talking to partners and expressing themselves, which is really fantastic to hear.  As a teaching team, the staff will continue to develop oracy skills across the curriculum, with a particular focus on developing 'the golden thread' in RE.  This visit was funded directly by you from the PTA funds - so thank you!

Our budding rock stars, who are part of Rock Steady music lessons here in school, performed to their parents and carers this week.  They all demonstrated confidence and enjoyment playing a range of well know pop songs.  Please see the tapestry post from Mrs Taekema for more information and photographs.

Coffee afternoon - Family Information Service

It is not too late to come to our Family Information Service coffee afternoon TODAY from 2pm onwards. FIS can support parents/carers with parenting advice, finances, disability living allowance, child care and much more.  We look forward to seeing you.

Celebration of learning

Monday 26th Jan from 3pm onwards, is our celebration of learning Spring term event.  Please go to your child's external classroom door where you will be ticked in by the class teacher.  Your child will share their learning with you, in their books and around the classroom.  This is a lovely opportunity to see the progress your child has made since September and is always well attended.

PTA

Wednesday 28th Jan at 6pm is our PTA meeting, if you are interested in joining the PTA or finding out what we do please come along. The meeting will be held in the school hall.

Don't forget to book a place at the upcoming quiz on Friday 20th March 7pm - book here.

Social media

We have a new public Facebook group for our school  - please scan the QR code below to join.  We will use this to promote our school and share educational news and events.  We will follow all permissions granted by parents/carers when publishing images of pupils. Please remember you have the right to amend the image consent permissions you have provided school at anytime, please contact the office to do so.

Warwickshire residents - have your voice heard.

Warwickshire County Council is currently recruiting new members for its Voice of Warwickshire residents panel. The panel is a group of local people who play a vital role in helping the county council understand the views, needs and priorities of residents living in Warwickshire.

Through the panel members can share their thoughts and ideas and help shape the future of the county. Panel members will be invited to take part in online polls and short surveys, four to six times a year, it's quick and easy to take part and you can choose what you respond to.  Members must be aged 18 or over and live in Warwickshire.

For more information and to register your interest visit: www.warwickshire.gov.uk/ vowrecruitment.
