School has been filled with even more laughter and fun than usual today, as the children have come dressed in red items and armed with jokes to raise money for Red Nose Day. Thank you for your generous donations to this amazing charity. We will let you know the total amount raised when all the money is counted next week.
Next week are our learning reviews - the booking system has now closed for this - if you have not booked your child's class teacher will speak to you and fit you in. Learning reviews are a vital part of your child's school journey so please attend your appointment promptly. Miquill (our new catering company) will be in the hall with sample food for you to try and are happy to answer any questions you have about the new service and menus, so please pop in to say hello.
We are also celebrating Easter next week, with our reception and Year 1 church service on Thursday (thank you if you have volunteered to help walk the children to church and back) and our Easter Bonnet parade on Friday. We have some lovely prizes for the Easter Bonnet competition, so get designing!
Swift kitchen
Today you have been sent your login for Swift Kitchen (a paper copy in your child's book bag). Please download the app as instructed and ensure you order your child's meals ready for when we return to school after the Easter break. You will see that you can order daily, weekly or the entire term. In your email we have sent out a parent guide, but please contact Hannah in the office if you are having trouble logging in. Please note you still have to go through checkout when you order your meals but there will be no payment to make. If your child will not be having a school meal because you are providing a packed lunch from home - you do not need to do this. However, I would strongly encourage you to get your child to try the new menu which includes sandwiches. If your child is having a packed lunch from home please inform the office this week so we can check this against non order on Swift Kitchen. Please remember that you cannot swap between a home provided packed lunch or a school dinner on a daily basis - we require a weeks notice for this to happen.
Choir participation in music festival
Our amazing choir took part in a digital music festival, which has been streamed on youtube - please note the link will not work until 11.15am today! Well done choir and Mrs Taekema for representing Telford Infant School - beautiful singing as always.
Sticky Questions for this week are;
Reception: When did you stop being a baby?
Year 1: If I send a tray out to sea, does it become a boat?
Year 2: When one of you claps do you both hear the same sound?
Next week is the last week before the Easter break. School finishes on Friday 27th March and returns back on Tuesday 14th April (as Monday 13th is a teacher training day). Please remember to check our calendar for key dates.
