Head's Message

The last week of this half term has had us patiently waiting to see what the weather would bring for Sports Day and we were not disappointed.  I hope you enjoyed watching your child have fun with the range of games that were organised by Mrs Smith and expertly delivered by the class teachers and TAs.  Well done to everyone for taking part and trying their best!  Here are the results;

Reception  - 1st place White  team, 2nd place Blue  team, 3rd place Red team.
Year 1  - 1st place Blue team, 2nd place White team, 3rd place Red team.
Year 2 - 1st place White  team, 2nd place Red team, 3rd place Blue team.

100 Book Challenge

I am proud to announce that we have two more 100 Book Challenge completions - Oliva from Sapphire class finished her 100th book from the list on Wednesday and came straight to find me to let me know.  Teddy did the same just this morning and was in my office to show me first thing! Well done Olivia and Teddy - this is a fantastic achievement!  I hope we can award more certificates to the children (particularly year 2) over the last half term so get reading!

Following in mum's footsteps

Jake in Turquoise class has caught the fundraising bug from his mum Sara, our PTA co -chair and is climbing Snowdon over the half term break and raising money for our PTA funds.  If you would like to sponsor Jake please click this just giving link. Thank you Jake and good luck!

Phonics screening check

If your child is in year one they will be taking their statutory phonics screening check week commencing 8th June.  Any extra practice you can help your child with over break will really help them increase in confidence ready for the check.  A brief parent video, created by Mrs Green, about the check and how to help your child is available on our facebook page.

School Building Works
The school will be having building works to replace some of the older windows throughout the school the first week back after half term, week commencing 1st June. The work areas will be cordoned off, but please do take extra care when walking around the school site.

Class Photos
The school class photos are now available to view and order online. Please use the access code on the Aperture card sent home with your child to access these.

Calendar dates

Today is the last day of school before the half term break, school is closed on Monday 1st June for teacher training. Next half term is very busy as always with a range of events, so please ensure you check the school calendar carefully - particularly year 2 parents for the leavers assemblies (information on how to book tickets will be sent next half term).

Lost property

The lost property pile has grown very large again - anything not collected today will be repurposed or recycled. Please come and take a look if your child has lost something - we have shoes, sunglasses and water bottles that are not named, in addition to uniform items.

PTA

Our fab PTA are holding a playground refreshments sale straight after school today - on the junior school playground - why not pop along and treat yourself.

Finally.....

Thank you for all your support this half term, we are very lucky to have such a supportive and invested community of parents (and extended family!) which helps our school to thrive.

Enjoy the rare hot Bank Holiday!  Have a lovely half term, school starts back on TUESDAY 2nd June.
