Welcome back to the final half term of the year! I hope you enjoyed the rare treat of glorious Bank Holiday and half term weather, and enjoyed some time away from the everyday demands of work and life.
The children have settled back into school well this week, and are looking forward to their new topics. Please remember further information about these will be available on tapestry for you to read.
Year 1's topic is called 'A trip around the UK' and they will be learning about the four countries and their capital cities that make the UK through key texts including Paddington Bear and The Giant's Causeway.
Year 2's topic is called 'Beatrix Potter' and they will be learning all about this famous author, their trip to Compton Verney on 26th June will provide the chance to learn watercolour techniques in Beatrix's style.
We will also be focusing on transition to new year groups and welcome our new reception children for their first visits into school.
Please read the letter sent in your email detailing classes and staffing for next year which also includes year 3 class information for children going to Telford Juniors.
Today also sees the start of our formal consultation period for academisation and joining Elm Tree MAT - please read the letter emailed to you about this.

Water safety
No child should be in or around water without adult supervision, however, given the sad incidents that have taken place across the UK during the hot weather, we have sent some water safety information for you to read. I hope you find this helpful.
