Head's Message

I cannot believe we are at the end of another academic year again!  And what an amazing year of fun and learning it has been.  It has been a pleasure to see all the children grow in confidence, develop friendships and learn new skills throughout the year and be ready to move onto their next stage.  Today we say goodbye to our Year 2 children and wish them the best of luck for their futures.  It is always hard letting them go, but we know they are ready for new challenges.  Year 2 parents (and I) were treated to 3 fantastic leavers assemblies which was a lovely way to end the children's time in our school. The children really enjoyed performing and sharing their memories.

We are also saying goodbye to some staff members; Mrs Morris - who has been with us in various roles for 34 years!   We wish her well in her retirement and express our HUGE thanks for all she has done for the children and the school.  Mrs Wilson is leaving us to develop her art classes, and we have already commissioned her to work with our children next year in creating some art work for the corridors.  Mrs Suman, has been a midday for 2 years and we thank her for her hard work in this role.

We are recruiting for a midday supervisor to start asap and would be grateful if you can share this with anyone looking for a role in school, no experience needed as on the job training will be provided.

PTA events

Everyone is welcome to the Party in the Playground later on today from 3.30pm onwards.  This will be held in the Junior School playground as we have an ice cream van coming.  If your child is part of the choir please collect them as normal and then take them to the junior school playground (next to our school) and hand them to Mrs Taekema.   Please also read the PTA newsletter that has been sent in your email.

Early flu vaccinations

The government has bought forward the school flu immunisation programme for this year. Therefore, our children will be offered their flu nasal spray on 9th September.  In the first week of term, you will be contacted by the NHS immunisation team and you will be asked to provide consent for your child.  We understand for our new reception children will not have been in school for very long, but we (and the nurses) are very skilled at this and will be able to ensure the children manage this well.

September start date

School starts back on Wednesday 2nd September for year 1 and 2 children, parent visits to school will take place that week for our new reception children.  Full calendar dates for the academic year 26/27 are now available.

Thank you for supporting your child throughout the year.  We have a wonderful school community and I am lucky and proud to be the headteacher of Telford Infants.   I sure you will join me in expressing my heartfelt thanks to the amazing and dedicated staff team, who are skilled at ensuring the children learn and make progress whilst having lots of fun.

I hope you have a wonderful summer break and take time to be with family and friends.
