Loving Learning

Here you can find out about the amazing things that have been happening in school this half term.  Please also listen to our new school song which the children have been learning.  This has been composed and written by our very own talented Mrs Taekema.

Week 1 - we welcomed our year 2 and year 1 children back to school.
Week 2 - we welcomed our new reception children into school.
Week 3 - we welcomed William Smith, Vicar of Lillington and Old Milverton into school for an assembly.  Reception started their topic Super Me and made super hero capes.  Year 1 started learning about Terrific Trees and enjoyed exploring the Wishing Wood.  Year 2 have been reading The Day the Crayons  Quit and producing some fantastic letters from the crayons.
Week 4 - We celebrated our amazing teaching assistants who show such care, support and dedication to the children each and every day. Your children made them some wonderful cards.
Week 5 - This week we have celebrated National Poetry Day.  All the children have been busy reading and listening to poems, performing poems and writing poems.  Spoz the poet came to school to inspire our young poets and share his love of poetry.   The children enjoyed his fun poems and sense of humour, and together wrote songs and poems with him.
Week 6 - We celebrated national library week and continued to introduce the children to our new school library, ensuring they understand the importance of looking after the books and returning them to the correct shelves.
