What a wonderful week of weather! Thank you for sending your children in with sun cream already applied, hats and water bottles. We want them to be able to enjoy the lovely sun whilst staying safe and hydrated.
Year 1 have enjoyed visiting Hill Close Gardens this week. The trip was an opportunity for the children to experience nature, see vegetable and flower gardens and reinforce their science learning about the parts of a plant.
This week our wonderful violinists and choir treated the school to a special assembly to celebrate World Music Day. Photos and videos of this will be on tapestry over the next few days. Thank you to Mrs Taekema for organising this.
Library and phonic reading books
Please read the letter regarding library and home reading books that has been sent home today via email. We really appreciate your support in ensuring our books are returned ready for September.
PTA fundraising
Rags2Riches4Schools
We’re excited to let you know that Telford Infant School has joined the Rags2Riches4Schools recycling scheme! This is a great opportunity to give your good-quality unwanted clothes and shoes a new lease of life - and help others around the world at the same time. Even better, for every kilo we collect, the school receives funds that go straight towards our fundraising goals. It’s a win-win: clear out some space at home and support our school community! How to get involved: Simply bring your filled bag(s) to the designated drop-off point outside the school office any time from now until Monday 7th July.
Recipe book
The Telford Infant School recipe book has landed and looks absolutely delicious! You can order these via the PTA (card or cash) or pop into the office for copy (cash only). The book costs £10 and all proceeds go straight back to enhancing experiences for your children in school. Get your copy before it sells out!
Class photographs
Friday 27th June is class photograph day. Please ensure your child is wearing the correct school uniform and has their smile ready. Our photographer will provide a proof for you to look at and details on how to order online.
Next week we are looking forward to meeting our new parents and children starting reception in September for a welcome evening and stay and play session.
Year 2 parents
On moving up day (Wednesday 2nd July) all year 2 children going to the Juniors have been invited to stay for lunch (which means they will be there all day). In order for this to happen they will need to take their own packed lunch from home. However, if you would like our kitchen team to provide a school packed lunch for them to take across please let your child's class teacher know by Wednesday 25th June.
Weather alert
The UKHSA and Met office amber weather alert for high temperatures remains in place until Monday morning. So please take care in the sun this weekend.
