Thank you for your support with our increased safeguarding presence this week. I can assure you that the measures we have in place are working well.
Sports day
What a lovely way to end this short half term with Sports Day! We were blessed with the Goldilocks weather and I was so pleased to see so much support from parents and carers. It really means a lot to for you to be part of these special events, so thank you for attending. All the children really enjoyed themselves and showed great sportsmanship. But sports day is also about healthy competition and the winning teams were;
Reception - White (with red in 2nd place and blue in 3rd)
Year 1 - Blue (with white in 2nd place and red in 3rd)
Year 2 - Blue (with red in 2nd place and white in 3rd)
If you were unable to make the event (and we appreciate not everyone can) you will find lots of photographs on tapestry so please take a look.
Winners of the Science 'Egg Drop' challenge
Well done to everyone who entered the 'egg drop' challenge competition. Miss Booth and Mrs Wilson really enjoyed looking at all the amazing entries and innovative designs. The winners were;
Reception - Woody, Year 1 - Olivia, Year 2 - Lois, Overall winner - Xander
We hope you had a 'cracking time' and enjoy your prizes.
Packed lunches
A reminder to any parent/carer who provides a packed lunch for their child we are a nut free school, we cannot allow strawberries or kiwi due to allergies and we recommend that grapes are cut in half as per the child accident prevention trust guidelines to prevent choking. We also promote a healthy lunch box and as such, chocolate or chocolate spread is not allowed. Please remember your child is able to swap over to a free hot lunch at any time -just let the class teacher know with a few days' notice.
Calendar dates
Please remember to look at the school calendar and put important dates in your diary - there are lots of things coming up for next term.
I cannot believe as I write this, that next term will be the last of this academic year. I came across a great quote in a book recently which feels very true - "the days are long but the years are short" and this year is certainly flying by.
Have a restful half term. Please remember school returns on Tuesday 3rd June (as the Monday is a training day and school is closed to children).
