We have made it to the end of an amazing year! I am so proud of the children, staff, governors, volunteers, PTA, parents and our community for enabling this to happen. My first year as head has been rewarding and colourful in equal measure and I am looking forward to a new academic year with lots of exciting learning and opportunities planned for the children. I am sure you will join me in thanking the staff of Telford Infants who really are dedicated to ensuring your child gets the best school experience possible, each and every day.
We stay goodbye to our Year 2 children and wish them the best of luck for their futures. It is always hard letting them go but unfortunately they cannot stay infant children forever. I hope Year 2 parents enjoyed the Leaver's Assemblies - this is always a lovely way to end the year.
We are also saying goodbye to some staff members; Mrs Ellis, Mrs Atkinson, Miss Perry, Miss Barclay, Mr Dorgan and Mrs Torabi. I want to thank them for all their dedication to the school during their time with us and wish them all the best for the future.
We have 2 governor vacancies!
Are you passionate about education and want to make a real difference in our school community? Becoming a school governor is a rewarding way to contribute to your child’s education and help shape the future of the school. As a parent governor, you’ll bring a valuable perspective to the board, support school improvement, and help ensure every child has the opportunity to thrive. You don’t need any special qualifications—just a willingness to learn, ask questions, and work as part of a team. If you care about the school’s success and want to have your voice heard, we encourage you to apply and help drive positive change. If you would like an informal conversation about this opportunity please email our Chair of Governors Fin McCarthy at mccarthy.f@welearn365.com
Online safety
I am sure your children will enjoy some time or devices playing their favourite games or watching videos online over the summer break. Please be mindful that whilst the internet is lots of fun, it can also be a dangerous place for children. You must always be aware of what your children are accessing online and check in with them, actually looking at what they are doing. The NSPCC have produced some information guidance around teaching your child about internet safety. Please take the time to look at this and ensure your child remains safe.
Summer holiday family fun
Over the last few weeks, we have sent a range of information about clubs and activities that ar taking place over the summer break. There are also lots of events happening across Warwickshire's County Parks which can be booked directly here. The Lloyd's tour of Britain Men's Cycle race returns to Warwickshire in September - to celebrate this school children are being invited to enter a design competition to create the race's starting flag and winner's trophy with the closing date being 6th August.
Family Information Service
Please remember the Family Information Service remains open all year round and is a great place to get a range of support and information on a variety of family and parenting topics. Their website can be accessed here which also contains their contact details - phone, email and facebook.
