Head’s message
The children really enjoyed the Bird Man visiting school last Friday and I am sure they told you all about the interesting birds he brought and the facts they learnt about them. This week reception and year 1 have shone at church in their Easter Service. It was lovely to see the children sing with such joy and the narrators read with confidence, they should all be really proud of themselves. The Year 2 children have been writing amazing poems about the Great Fire of London and I have been treated to the Star Writers in Year 2 reading their poems to me which was wonderful.
Thank you for attending the recent Learning Reviews, we hope you found these informative and useful. If you missed your appointment, your child's class teacher will be in touch with you to rearrange, but this may be after the Easter break.
Please look out on Tapestry for an Easter reading challenge that we are inviting all chidlren to take part in. Children can bring in their completed challenge after Easter to recieve a reading certificate.
National offer day
Wednesday 16 April is National Offer Day for Reception and Year 2 Junior School places, so this is when Warwickshire parents and carers who applied before the 15 January deadline will get the details of their child’s school place. The details will be sent via email and it will also be available on the Parent Portal. Just like last year, admissions will automatically accept school places on behalf of each family. This means that parents and carers don’t need to take any additional action. Only those who want to decline the offer of a school place need to contact them (not school).
Sporting events
Next half term is the much-anticipated Sports day which takes place on 22nd May. Please read the letter sent in the email carefully as it contains timings and useful information. There will also be a football tournament for 14 children in year 2 as part of our local school sports provision. A letter has been sent to year 2 parents, please read and reply if your child would like to be put in the draw to possibly take part.
Summer term dates
The first half of the summer term is a short 4 weeks but with plenty of exciting learning taking place;
Don't forget to regulary check the school calendar. which contains key dates for the rest of the academic year, including those important Leaver's assembly dates which year 2 parents are invited to (more details about these nearer the time, but you might want to save the date).
Lost Property
This will be put out outside the main entrance to school again today - we have amassed a lot of unnamed property again. As it is the end of a term, any uncollected lost property will be either donated to the pre loved collection, put in the spares box (for when children have accidents) or recycled. The office would really appreciate it if you could spare some time over the break to check that all your child's items are named please, so we can easily return them when they get mislayed.
School returns on Monday 28th April and we look forward to seeing everyone back for the start of the summer term.
Your child will be sent home with a vegan and allergy friendly Easter treat courstey of the PTA, we hope they enjoy it with your permission. Have a wonderful Easter break, hopefully the sun will continue to shine.
