Head's message
I want to start this week's newsletter with lots of thank you's.
It is lovely today so see so many children wearing red accessories to support Red Nose Day.  Thank you for your support with this.  School Council will let you know the total amount raised as soon as the donations are counted.
Thank you for attending the celebrating of learning event this week, I hope you were proud of what your children are achieving.
Many of you have already promptly paid for the upcoming learning visits, thank you as this really helps the office process all the administration required in a timely manner.
I do really appreciate and value having such a supportive and engaged parent community!

Learning Reviews
Please take the time to read the learning review letter sent via email today.  Booking opens at 12noon on Monday morning. Learning reviews are an important opportunity to speak with your child's teacher(s) and understand how your child is progressing both socially and academically so please book your appointment as soon as possible.

Lockdown
This week we have practised our lockdown procedures again, but this time in conjunction with the preschool and junior school so that the whole site was secure.  The children handled this really well and should be very proud of themselves.

Staffing
We would like to officially say goodbye to Faye Hall who has been part of the office and midday team since September 2023.   We thank her for her hard work and dedication to the school and wish her all the best for the future.

After school clubs
Summer term bookings for the range of different after school clubs we have are now live.  Information can be found on our clubs page.

PTA Meeting & Social
Thursday 27th March
6pm - 7pm
Everyone is invited to the next PTA meeting where the PTA will be updating everyone on the amount of money raised so far and the plans for the rest of the year.  Afterwards they will be heading to The Rugby Tavern for drinks and really hope to see as many of you there as possible.
The current PTA committee will be stepping down after this school year so if anyone is interested in any of the below roles for 2025/26  - Chair,/Co chair, secretary or treasurer - then this is a great opportunity to ask questions.

Without the above positions in place, the vital work and much needed fundraising of the PTA will not be able to continue.  While we understand it doesn't appeal to everyone the PTA, along with the entire TIS team, create brilliant memories for the children and raise vital funds.  So please consider stepping up - maybe get a team together of friends who fancy giving it a go?  There is no expectation to do what has always been done - in fact, change is good - and there will be ex-PTA members still around who can be on hand to offer support and guidance when needed.

If anyone would like to discuss this then please contact Sara Russell, our current PTA chair, who is more than happy to answer any questions you may have.

Eat well, move more campaign
Warwickshire County Council have launched a new Eat Well, Move More campaign which parents are encouraged to look at.
Eat well - Healthy eating starts with simple swaps. Replacing fizzy drinks, juice drinks, and flavoured milks with water, lower-fat milk, or drinks with no-added-sugar is a great way to cut down on sugar. Energy drinks are not recommended for children under 16 as they are high in caffeine and can lead to physical and mental health issues.

Move more - a healthy lifestyle also involves plenty of physical activity. Children should ideally be active for at least 60 minutes a day, with 30 minutes taking place outside of school. This can be broken into short 10-minute bursts—they could try scootering to school, skipping to the shops, or dancing to a song!

We will also be sharing an Eat Well Move More activity booklet with year 1 and year 2 children over the next few weeks.

Next week
Thursday 27th March 6pm PTA meeting - all welcome
Friday 28th March - superwoman present room  - please make sure you have read letter and completed payment.
Please see our calendar for further dates.

Have a lovely weekend, I have heard rumors that the sun may continue to shine!
