Before and After School Club 

SMILES Club is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. 


How to Apply
Please email our SMILES Manager Mrs Francesca Berry - - providing the following information:

  1. Child's full name
  2. Date of birth
  3. Child's current year group and class name (for children starting school in Reception in September 2020 please provide the date that you accepted a place at our school with Admissions service).
  4. For Year 5 and 6 children requiring a Breakfast Club place - full name and class of Infant School sibling.
  5. Parent's full name
  6. Sessions required 
Parents of children due to start in Reception at Telford Infants in September 2021 are welcome to apply for a place at SMILES once they have formally been offered and have accepted a place at our school by Warwickshire Admissions Service. We are expecting offers to be made on 16th April 2021.
Once offered a place at SMILES  our new Reception children start attending the club once they are in school full time.
The Club follows Telford Infant School policies and procedures - for example, Health and Safety; Safeguarding, including PREVENT; Equality Statement.

Please note that under the government guidelines we have had to make the following temporary changes to SMILES club until COVID-19 restrictions are lifted:
is currently only open to children in Infant School. The children are separated into their Year Group bubbles and sessions are taking place within their Year Group area. Unfortunately we are unable to offer all of the usual breakfast choices whilst operating on this basis.
AFTER SCHOOL CLUB is open to children from across the Telford Infant and Junior Schools. The Infant School children remain in their bubbles as per Breakfast Club while the Junior children make use of the rooms the club rents on the Junior School site, split into the 4 Year Groups.
Breakfast Club is held in our school hall and is available to:
Telford Infant school pupils
Telford Junior School pupils in years 3 and 4
Telford Junior School pupils in years 5 and 6 who have a sibling at Telford Infant School.
Drop off: from 7.45am at the main SMILES door at Telford Infant School. Please use the school pedestrian gate to access the school as the Junior School gates are not open until 8.45am.
Children are taken by our playworkers either to their Infant School classroom or directly to the Junior School for the start of the school day at 8.55am.
Children enjoy a healthy choice of toast, crumpets, cereals, yogurts and a variety of fresh fruits. We are a nut free school and children with allergies are fully catered for.
After School Club is available to all pupils attending Telford Infant and Junior Schools. Pupils are divided into separate rooms depending on their age group but do have the opportunity to mix outside when the weather is fine should they wish to.

After School Club is held in the main Infant School building and we also hire 2 rooms on the Junior School site.
Infant School children are collected by our Playworkers from their classrooms at 3.20pm. 
Junior School children are met by our Playworkers from the Junior School hall at 3.20pm.
Afternoon snack:
We prepare a nutritious snack for children each day and our menu varies across the week. This is not intended to replace an evening meal.  We are a nut free school and children with allergies are fully catered for.

Current fees for Breakfast Club are as follows:
£4 per session (drop off from 7.45am) 

Current fees for After School Club  are as follows:
£9.50 per session (3.20pm – 6.00pm)

Club Payments:
A half termly invoice is provided and payments are made through Parent Pay or with Child Care Vouchers or tax Free Credit.

Please note:

  • We regret we are unable to refund fees should your child not attend booked sessions.
  • Fees are also not refunded for events outside of our control (such as school closure due to adverse weather conditions).
  • Late collection from After School Club - after 3  late collections a fee of £10 will be made in order to cover staff overtime costs.
Persistent non payment can result in the loss of your child’s Breakfast or After School Club place.
